Rebecca Mott recently wrote about an important myth among leftists:
There is a myth that porn would be ok if only it was not commercial. Then it would be done with real emotions, there would be no coercion, it would by magic stop all dodgy practices. There is no evidence for this beyond the dreams of leftists or feminists who want to keep their porn, but pretend to themselves that it must be ethical. [link]
There is probably no better example of this mythology than the anarchist project: “Freedom Porn”.
“Unfortunately” that is probably the creepiest disclaimer I’ve ever had to read. And who knew porn needed a bizarre Amnesty International-esque logo.
So what is “Freedom porn”? Quite simply, it’s the kind of thing that happens when the universe takes men, misogyny, the internet, sex-positivity, queer theory, anarchism, anti-capitalism and free-software fetishism, mixes liberally with unfathomable ignorance, stupidity and a fantastic sense of entitlement, then smash them all together at high speed.
Behold:

This makes my stomach hurt.
Hi,
The reason we’ve made the disclaimer like that is that we are on a commercial hosting, which (although claims to support freedom of speech) would probably still kick us out if we didn’t put at least something like that.
As for the comments that all the people being “men”, i must disagree, most submitters are actually genderqueer. Sorry to disappoint.
And we are absolutely pro-sex (otherwise why the fuck would we be doing this), we are pro-sexuality, pro-kink, pro-gender variation, and most definitely anti-discriminatory.

P.S. I actually very much like our logo.
